Postcards from Planet Earth

One way that planetary geologists learn about other, distant, worlds is by studying meteorites—pieces of rock from other terrestrial bodies in the Solar System.

But what if somewhere out there, in the vast cosmos of space, there were other planetary geologists trying to learn more about the array of worlds in our universe?

Taking some inspiration from Voyager 1’s ‘Golden Record’, what pieces of Earth would we want to send to those aliens? What rocks would best show off how special our home is?

Read my blog—Postcards from Planet Earth—to find out some of my answers. And learn some geology along the way!
